Having grown up on a farm near Troy, Illinois; Ryan is very familiar with the surrounding towns and families residing within them. As he got to know customers and their backgrounds, whether that background is similar to his or vastly different – he often found that they know the same people or went to the same high school.
I suppose you could say I got into mortgage lending by chance. After completing my B.S. from Illinois State University, I started working in finance without clear sense of direction for my career. I met a few people in the mortgage industry, and intrigued by the challenge, in 1999 I started down that path myself. I was quickly hooked by the work, and have been passionate about the industry ever since.
I’ve been working in the mortgage industry for many years now, and have worked with different companies. While each company approaches the industry with its own lens, TheBANK is unique in that it is truly dedicated to the communities surrounding it. I sincerely feel as though I’m part of a team of devoted individuals committed to bringing their best to the job every day.
My ultimate goal was to work for a company I admire, with a team I respect, and to find fulfillment in my work by seeing the real impact I have on customers. I find it rewarding to be part of an organization with such a rich history with the communities it serves. As I’ve gotten to know more about TheBANK and its team, I’ve seen how much this history resonates with our customers and community. It’s rare to stumble across someone in my day-to-day life who doesn’t work with TheBANK or know its history.
One way I define success is to take a complicated process and create a simpler and less stressful experience for the customer. My key objective is to give the highest level of customer service, along with providing the right mortgage program to fit each borrower’s individual needs and goals. Seeing a first time homebuyer get their keys at closing is extremely rewarding. The knowledge that I helped to make that dream a reality makes me very proud.
