Matt has been with TheBANK since 2014. He started as Center Manager at the Alton branch and after a year, became the Area Sales Manager for the Riverbend Market. He moved to his current position as a Business Banker in early 2018.
I have been working in the banking industry since 2004. I started out working as a personal banker and was later promoted to branch manager. After working at a large regional bank for the next 10 years of my career, I made the move to TheBANK of Edwardsville in 2014.
Over the years working as a branch manager and area sales manager, I have been able to spend a lot of time working with our small business clients. Getting to know the clients and understanding how their businesses are run has become one of my favorite things to do. The opportunity to focus full time on helping our small business banking customers grow their businesses was an opportunity I could not pass up.
There are many things that make working for TheBANK of Edwardsville special. Our history, our people, our culture of service – these are all things that jump out at me when I think of reasons I enjoy working for TheBANK. After having spent 10 years early in my career at a large regional bank, it has been refreshing to work for a community bank where the employees truly feel like they are important and that their opinion matters.
I strive to be a positive influence to others – being a strong role model for my children and maximizing my ability to help others. Each client has different goals throughout their business cycle and when I can personally be a part of helping them reach those goals, I consider that to be extremely rewarding.
One way that I add value for my clients is by connecting them with other businesses or individuals that might utilize their services. This not only helps their bottom line, but it also shows them that I am vested in helping their business succeed even when I am not part of the transaction.
I have always been involved in sports throughout my life and have stayed involved by coaching my kids. Sports has taught me how important relationships are in a successful team or business. I am a big believer in leadership through positive influence and sports has helped cultivate that mindset for me.
