Jon has been in the banking industry since 1982. He started at TheBANK of Edwardsville in 1996 as a lender. When the previous center manager in Highland left TheBANK in 2006, he was appointed to the position and continued in the lending area as well. In January 2018, he was appointed as one of the members of the Small Business Banking team.

I began my career at a local bank in Highland, Illinois, that had gone through several mergers.   During my tenure there, I worked as a teller, in accounts payable and as a general ledger clerk before becoming a lender and center manager.

I joined TheBANK of Edwardsville in 1996, wanting to get back to a locally-owned financial institution, where the decision making is made locally.

As a student at SIUE, I was offered an opportunity to work part time as a teller, and was offered a position in consumer lending. I enjoyed the challenges associated with the lending business, and the satisfaction of helping people meet personal goals. When TheBANK opened a branch in Highland, I jumped at the chance to be a part of TheBANK of Edwardsville – a strong and well-respected, locally-owned financial institution.

TheBANK has encouraged me to participate in local community activities which has allowed me to enrich the lives and livelihoods of the people in the same community that I live and work in, as well as be a larger part of the communities that we serve.

My goal is for my clients to feel that I treated them fairly and with respect, and that I contributed to their success along the way. I want the client to feel that my knowledge of both TheBANK’s products – and of the customer – is an asset, helping them to meet their financial needs.

I feel vested in my client’s success, and I go out of my way to be a part of that success. I take the time to evaluate each customer’s options, and I provide them with solid solutions. Even when a client is facing challenging times – and whether they like what I tell them or not – I want them to know that I have their best interests at heart. I treat customers as I would expect to be treated myself, and I genuinely care about my client’s success along the way.
